Why pray for Seminarians
- We are an apostolate, inspired by love for the Church and in response we pray for all priestly vocations.
- We intercede for all seminarians in order to support them in their dedication, prayers and penances.
- We pray so that seminarians may join themselves to the priestly Heart of Jesus.
- We pray for seminarians, because they carry the treasure of their vocation in a clay vessel that only grace can strengthen.
- We pray for seminarians so that our Lord will help them persevere and give themselves with generosity.
- We pray for seminarians so that the Lord will give them the grace to persevere and become holy priests.
- We pray for seminarians so that the Lord will help them to persevere and to love him with all their hearts.
- We pray so that seminarians may treasure the gift of celibacy.
- We pray so that all seminarians may grow in knowledge and love of God to be holy priests.
- We pray for seminarians, because we believe in the strength of prayer and because we know that the Lord hears the prayer of a pleading people.
- We pray so that seminarians will be obedient to the Magisterium of the Church and in communion with the Holy Father and the Bishops.
- We pray for seminarians so that prayer may be the backbone that nourishes them and sustains their vocation.
- We pray for seminarians so that the Holy Spirit will give them holiness, through unity with the Virgin, the gift of obedience and chastity.
- We pray for seminarians so that prayer may be the greatest act of charity for others, so it would be good if it were addressed to future priests.
- We pray for seminarians because they need our spiritual support to move them to respond to the Lord with great dedication and fidelity.
- We pray for seminarians, so that when they pray they will discover that they are precious in the eyes of God.
- We pray for seminarians so that the Lord can form in them a true heart of Pastors.
- We pray for seminarians so that the Lord Jesus will make the fire of his love for his Church burn in them.
- We pray for those who thirst for the salvation of souls.
- We pray for seminarians and priestly vocations so that the Lord increases and strengthens them in each of their weaknesses in order that they may be able to give a firm and full response to the Lord.
- We pray to the Lord for the nursery of the mercy of God, which is the seminary, and for the increase of more vocations.
- We pray to the Lord because we believe that if the Lord does not build the house, in vain do the builders labor, Psalm 127.
- We pray to the Lord because the path is not easy and many difficulties present themselves for those who are called. May the Lord make it bearable.
- We pray that all priests may share the joy of the Risen Christ.
- We pray that seminarians will be devotees of Mary and find in her the love and consolation of a mother, the most powerful intercession of our greatest Saint and the surest refuge against Satan and his followers, who seek the destruction of priestly vocations.
- We pray for seminarians, so that Mary, Queen of the Clergy, may be a model of faith and joy and the constant guide until reaching Heaven, where a crown adorned with many souls awaits them.
Prayer for seminarians
Lord, Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd, you who know all your sheep and know how to reach the heart, open the minds and hearts of those who seek and hope for a word of truth for their lives; make them feel that only in you can they find full light; give bravery to those who know where to find the truth but fear that your call is too demanding; shake the souls of those who want to follow you in priestly ministry but do not know how to overcome doubts and fears and end up listening to other voices. You who are the Word that enlightens and sustains hearts, awaken in those whom you call courage to give the answer of love: "Here I am, send me!"
Oh Mary, Mother of the New Evangelization, you who were with Jesus at the beginning of his life and his mission, you who sought him out as Master among the crowd and accompanied him in the cross, when a sword of pain pierced your soul, intercede for all the seminarians of the Church that they may be faithful and steadfast in their vocation, malleable and available in their formation, generous and selfless in community life, dedicated and helpful in their pastoral work, and persistent and disciplined in the study of the theology. Thus, good Mother, they will become the living image of the Good Shepherd, holy and committed to their ministry. Thank you, Mother Virgin Mary.
AMEN
